Restoring a photo postcard

When I offered to restore this photographic postcard from the second world war for a friend I'd no idea it would take the amount of time it did.

My intention was to lift the image out of the faded damaged background and try and bring out the detail.

There was something immensely satisfying in repairing the age worn card.

As a result previously muddy
detail in the two figures and the background can be seen.
